The questions we hear most at the workshop
These are the questions people ask us most, at the counter and on the phone. If yours is not here, call or email us. Our opening hours and address are on their own page.
Do I need to book a repair?
Not for small jobs. Bring the bike in while we are open and we will look at it with you. For a full service, book a few days ahead. A service takes most of a morning, and booking means your bike gets that time instead of waiting in a queue behind other work.
Do you repair electric bikes?
Yes, we repair the bike parts of an electric bike: brakes, gears, tyres, wheels and chains. We do not open motors or batteries. If the fault is in the electrics, we tell you and point you to the maker's own service centre, which has the tools and the parts.
Can I bring my own parts?
Yes. We fit parts you bring, as long as they suit the bike and are safe. We check them first, and we charge only for the fitting. If a part does not fit, we explain why and suggest one that does, so you do not pay twice for the same job.
How do you price a repair?
We look at the bike with you and agree a price before we start. If we find something else while we work, we call you first and never fix it without asking. A price we agree is the price you pay, unless you say yes to more work on the phone.
How long will my bike be in the workshop?
Small jobs such as a puncture or a brake cable are often ready the same day. A full service takes a day. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you how long it should take when we order it, and we call you as soon as it arrives and the bike is ready.
For jobs you can do yourself, start with how to fix a flat bike tyre or what a bike service includes.
