Featured snippet

A featured snippet is a short extract from one page that Google shows above or among the regular results, to answer a question directly. It is chosen from pages that already rank on the first page. A plain answer of a few sentences right under a question-style heading gives a page the best chance. Our post on writing answer capsules shows the shape.
